Pet Christmas Safety Tips Christmas wouldn’t be the same without our four legged furry friends. Fluffy climbing the tree and knocking down ornaments every time you turn your back or Fido doing his part by “watering” the Christmas tree. Having our pet companions around is an absolute must, but we also have to keep their safety in mind each holiday season. Here is our list of Pet Christmas Safety Tips. 1) Keep the human food out of reach! Number one on our list of Pet Christmas Safety Tips, is keep the human food out of reach! Table scraps are always a big no-no when it comes to the health and safety of your pets. Holidays celebrations do not change that fact. Food is always a plenty when family and friends gather to celebrate. But human food and be dangerous and even deadly if Fido or Fluffy get a taste. Chocolate, onions, grapes, nuts, and alcoholic beverages can cause severe illness. Turkey & chicken bones can prove to be deadly if ingested or at least cost you a pretty penny if surgery is needed. High-fat foods can lead to pancreatitis which is costly to treat and may lead to the pancreas digesting itself, which is fatal!
